Development of Wolfe Tone Park , Bantry
- As part of the development of Wolfe Tone Park, Newtown, Bantry a childrens playing ground was built at the start of 1999. It has proves to be an excellent success and is packed on most sunny days. A shop has also been installed.
- The gymnasium is being run by triathlon specialist Vicki Twomey and she runs several keep fit and get fit classes all through the year. The Bantry Blues teams also use the gym.
- The drainage of the main pitch was a major source of concern especially last November when Bantry couldn't play their Munster Semi final on the pitch due to its wetness. Since then the new drainage system has improved the playing surface. It is hoped that on wet days that the pitch wont be as soggy as has been in previous years. Pat Joy is looking after this and has done an excellent job.
